While travel and tourism seems to be back ‘on track’ with a growing number of arrivals and overnights, we have arrived at a crossroad. Do we go back to our business as usual pre Covid’19 and is this growth track possible and desirable for the next decade? Or is it time to face the environmental and social impacts of tourism and develop a more sustainable tourism future? In this session we will look at the Cronos and Kairos of sustainable tourism for the world in general, and at the same time invite you to make your own reflection for Athens and your business in particular. Is this your Kairos?

Athens is receiving record number requests to host conferences and events. MICE worldwide is booming. Is this an after-COVID adjustment of the market or are we looking for a bright MICE future? Should we address current demand and enjoy the momentum, or should we use these good days to plan ahead?
This session is looking to bring together Greek professional congress organisers (PCO) and event suppliers to discuss on how to maximise value and future proof the Greek MICE industry. The aim is to identify key challenges and develop a common understanding about the problems, the opportunities, and the way forward.
We have designed an interactive format that will reveal different opinions and allow constructive dialogue and mutual understanding. In the safe space of the workshop there is not right or wrong, but an exchange of experiences and ideas that will allow us to move all together, forward.
