Travel Trade Athens: 8 & 9 October 2018

The City of Athens signature annual event Travel Trade Athens 2018, now in its 6^th year, will be taking place on 8-9 October 2018, hosting selected international buyers focusing on Athens and Greece.

Travel Trade Athens is organized by the City of Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) in cooperation with the European Association of Tour Operators (ETOA). The goal of the event is to develop first-hand business relationships between top MICE, corporate and leisure buyers from across the globeand leading tourism suppliers from Athens and Greece as well as showcasingAthens as a year-round cultural, artistic, and modern citybreak and meetings industry destination.

Travel Trade Athens aims to attract more than 100 representatives of tour operators, travel agents, conference and event organizers from the US and Europe as well as media representatives to promote the Greek experience.

The first Travel Trade Athens took place in 2013 as part of the City’s strategy to actively promote Athens as a destination in the global travel industry. In just 5 years, TTA has managed to become the signature travel trade event for promoting Athens. It has become a successful platform for networking between established travel trade and meetings professionals from across the world with Greek suppliers. With over 12,000 B2B pre-scheduled meetings, taking place in the past five years, Travel Trade Athens has attracted more than 420 selected hosted buyers from 35 countries representing Europe, USA, Asia, Australia and other significant markets.

Travel trade Athens 2018 programme includes:

• A fully-hosted travel and accommodation package, including FAM trips that give participants the chance to discover the city’s products and experiences while experiencing the Athenian culture, hospitality and gastronomy.
• A two-day B2B workshop with pre-arranged B2B appointments between buyers and suppliers.
• Asocial program that offers the opportunity to network with fellow decision-makers from across the world and to interact further with leading tourism suppliers from Athens and Greece.

The 5^th Travel Trade Athens 2017 is coming this October

Registrations are underway for the signature annual trade event organized by the City of Athens
hosting select international and Greek tourism professionals

In October, travel trade professionals will descend upon Athens for the 5^th consecutive year.  The upcoming Travel Trade Athens event is the city’s annual signature event, showcasing Athens as an attractive cultural, artistic, and modern, city break and Meeting Industry destination.

The 5th Travel Trade Athens, organized by the Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB), in cooperation with the European Tour Operators Association (ETOA), will be taking place on Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 October 2017 at the emblematic "Grande Bretagne" Hotel, in the heart of Athens.

In this 5th consecutive event, Travel Trade Athens will again be hosting selected international professionals, representing tourism organizations and agencies, conference and event organizers, as well as journalists from well known online and offline media, through a fully hosted buyers programme. The event includes pre-arranged B2B meetings with Athens’ and Greece’s foremost tourism professionals and thematic fam trips & experiences of Athens wherein the participants get to experience firsthand the city of Athens and the services offered.

The Mayor of Athens, Georgios Kaminis, welcomes those interested in registering for the event underlining that it “has become a signature meeting for the promotion of the destination.” The Mayor further notes that “Travel Trade Athens helps put the City of Athens firmly on the map of the world tourist industry. Within just four years, it has already clocked up 9,500 meetings between foreign buyers and Greek suppliers, leading to a significant number of new collaborations."

Travel Trade Athens 2017 offers a fully hosted buyers program that includes international air travel, accommodation and a memorable social program. The closing date for registrations is September 1, 2017.
